The iZone calls for new and radical solutions to systemic and persistent school challenges that require the school and broader community to rethink current operating conditions and pursue bold strategies in order to improve student outcomes.
The school day will increase by an hour and a half for teachers and selected support staff, with one hour allocated for additional instruction with students and one half-hour for planning, collaboration, and professional learning community activities. The school day for the iZone schools are included in the "iZone Schools" page.
We believe in compensating our great educators and staff for the work that they do.
- iZone Teachers, School Counselors, Social Workers, Psychologists, Library Media Specialists will participate in the extended learning day and will receive a stipend.
- Pre-K Teachers will participate in the extended learning day and will receive a stipend.
- iZone Instructional Coaches will participate in the extended learning day and will receive a stipend.
- iZone Teaching Assistants and Pre-K Teaching Assistants will participate in the extended learning day and will receive a stipend.
- iZone Nurses will participate in the extended learning day and will receive a stipend.
- Health Aides in iZone schools will not participate in the extended learning day and will not receive a stipend. The schedule may be modified to accommodate the school day but there is no change to the amount of time required to work.
- Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Language and Hearing/Vision Impaired staff in iZone Schools will not participate in the extended learning day and will not receive a stipend. The schedule may be modified to accommodate the school day but there is no change to the amount of time required to work.
